What does the Bible say about rest and your workload? Something almost subversive: "In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for bread to eat— for He gives sleep to His beloved" (Psalm 127:2). Sleep, in that verse, is not laziness. The shepherd psalm shows rest as something God insists on: "He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul" (Psalm 23:1-3).
